Between 2008 and 2018, Prof. Werle led the LL.M. & PhD programme “Transnational Criminal Justice and Crime Prevention - An International and African Perspective” at the South African-German Centre for Transnational Criminal Justice in cooperation with the University of the Western Cape, Cape Town/South Africa as the director of the centre. The programme has been funded by the  German Academic Exchange Service (Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst, DAAD).

 

After the 10-year-funding period for the South African-German Centre for Transnational Criminal Justice has ended on 31 December 2018, it is time to explore new possibilities of cooperation and exchange. The high number of very successful and active Alumni of the Centre has inspired us to set up the African-German Research Network for Transnational Criminal Justice, which aims to provide our Alumni with the basis and the resources to further their academic and personal exchange.
